Zoo Visit
I recently visited Australia Zoo solely to photograph animals to use as reference for my art. I was particularly interested in photographing the Sumatran tigers and was disappointed that I was only able to photograph them through glass. My best photos were of the elephants, wombats (so cute I would love to adopt one) and cassowaries. I am still working on a collection of pastel works themed boats, pelicans and water which I hope to exhibit next year. If you enjoyed this post please consider becoming a follower of my blog. I know what you mean Sally. I have been to the Zoo so many times to get those wonderful photos. and there they are snuggled in a corner with no hope of getting a good shot. I sympathise.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute Wombat. gorgeous.
Its a shame when the glass gets in the way, I had hoped to get some great shots of gorillas and the reflections ruined them. I love the wombat I could imagine taking it for a walk in the park:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sam and Dors. The wombat and her baby were put on a low trolly and taken through the zoo to some lovely fresh green grass which they apparently seem to enjoy as a treat the way we enjoy chocolate. To get pics of the tigers without a glass barrier I could pay @ $150 for a personal tour but my budget didn't stretch that far on the day. Maybe next time. Or maybe go on African safari!!
