Well I have finally finished this pastel. I will be having it framed to enter the Pastel Society of Australia Winter Competition. I had been thinking of adding a scant piece of sandy beach for them to stand on but I think it is probably better without. My next pastel will be horses!! It was well worth the wait Sally, I love their feet, they remind me of ladies stockings in that colour. Post another pic when it's framed, sometimes it is nice to see a portrait framed as well.
ReplyDeleteYes I love exaggerating colour. Will post when framed!
ReplyDeletehi Sally , this isnt the first time i visit your blog , but i dont remember if i wrote to you already . i like very much your paintings . the tecnique and the animals. it is good to see that you like cats too , i have 4 ladies , 3 siameses and 1 brasilian short hair .the youngest is 4 months old and the oldest is 19 years old.and more 4 lhasa apsos.... any way , i have one blog about paintings , if one day you visit it , i hope you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteCaio thankyou for visiting my blog and admiring my paintings. I do love cats and Frisky is very special his behavour is almost dog like. He loves to play games and waits at the gate for us to come home. I have just visited your blog and I love some of your portraits. Some of them appear so three dimensional they look like sculptures leaping out of the page. do you do your self portraits using a mirror or from a photo?
ReplyDeleteexcellent Sally. I agree that it stands well enough alone the way you have finished it.
ReplyDeleteGood job
Thanks Gary! I am looking forward to seeing it when I pick it up from the framer later this week. I often pop into your blog. I love the way you use colour!
