Frisky!

It is with great sadness that I have to report that Frisky our very special friend and companion passed away on Saturday. He was 11 years old and became ill suddenly due to kidney failure. He had not touched food or water for days when the vet and I decided that it would be kindest to euthanise him. Heart wrenching is an understatement. Frisky was extraordinary; having lots of character he would sit at the top of the driveway waiting for us to come home just as a dog would; he played games like hide and seek with my husband; and he was very affectionate and loving, curling up with us to watch TV and sleeping on our bed during the night. He is a huge loss.

On a brighter note my husband and I sailed in a race to raise money for breast cancer awareness yesterday and had a much needed very happy day! I think my next work will be cyclists inspired by the Tour de France which we watch every year without fail. If you enjoyed this post please consider becoming a follower of my blog. 1. Sally I am so sorry for your loss. I feel for you very much.

Glad you had a good sail and for such a wonderful cause.

Prismacolor are ColorPencils made by Sandford. They are a lovely soft buttery texture. but they do not last as long as the Polychromos. and I do have more breakages when sharpening the Prismas.

  2. Very sorry for your loss Sally. It is hard when we loose a friend, wether human or animal; the pain we feel is no different.

What a great way to raise money while enjoying a sail. It must have made your day.

  3. Sally, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved cat, it is an awful time but I'm so sure Frisky had the best cat's life possible. As for your race for breast cancer, well done you. I'm off to a dog show for the same thing, it all goes to help, although my efforts will not be anywhere near as energetic as yours! I watched the tour as well, I love it and I say every ear, one day I'll go see it for real!

  4. Thankyou all for your kind words! It helped me to write about it on my blog. The sailing day was wonderful with most boat crews wearing items of hot pink. We might bump into you one day at the Tour Karie as we intend one day to see it for real. I have never been to France and it looks beautiful!

  5. Sally, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Frisky. Our pets really are family members and it's so hard to let them go. Part of loving them is knowing when to make that difficult decision. I'm afraid I'm going to be facing that soon with my Maggie who looks amazingly like your Frisky. (((Hugs)))

Would you mind if I painted the picture you posted of him? It won't be for sell, just want to because he is so beautiful.
